Independence Gold Hits 14.70 g/t Au Over 9.10m at New 'Goofy Vein' — Second Blind Discovery Using Spoke-Targeting Model at 3Ts in 29 Days
Discovery drill hole 3TS-26-39 intersected 9.10 metres grading 14.70 grams per tonne gold and 36.70 g/t silver, with an estimated true width of 7.00 metres, according to Independence Gold Corp.'s (TSXV: IGO) July 22, 2026 news release published via Newsfile Corp. Inside that interval sits a 1.70-metre core grading 63.67 g/t gold and 54.11 g/t silver.
The new intercept comes from the Goofy Vein, approximately 250 metres west of the established Ted-Mint Vein System at the company's wholly-owned 3Ts Gold Project in British Columbia — a blind target with no surface expression guiding the drill.
The Balrog discovery — announced June 29, 2026, also within the 3Ts Project — was the first blind vein the company found using the same targeting methodology. Both were generated by testing radial structural corridors, or 'spokes,' identified through the company's evolving structural interpretation of the property, per the July 22 release.
'The discovery of the Goofy Vein provides further validation of the exploration model our technical team has been developing over the past year,' said Randy Turner, President and CEO of Independence Gold Corp., in the July 22 release.
The 3Ts Project covers approximately 35,486 hectares across thirty-one mineral claims on the Nechako Plateau, 185 kilometres southwest of Prince George, British Columbia. It lies 16 kilometres southwest of Artemis Gold Inc.'s Blackwater Mine. The project hosts a low-sulphidation epithermal quartz-carbonate vein district with at least twenty known mineralized veins ranging from 50 to over 1,100 metres in strike length and true widths up to 32 metres. Eleven of those veins remain untested by drilling, per the July 22 release.
Additional drilling along strike and beneath the Goofy Vein discovery has been completed; assays are pending. The vein remains open both along strike and at depth, per the July 22 release.
IGO.V traded at CAD $0.09 on July 27, 2026, unchanged on the day, per Yahoo Finance. The S&P/TSX Venture Composite stood at 905.98, per Investing.com.
Independence Gold also holds the Boulevard project — 888 claims covering approximately 17,500 hectares in the White Gold Area, Dawson Range, Yukon — per the July 22 release. No current cash position or shares-outstanding figure was available as of publication.
Pending assays from the follow-up holes drilled along strike and at depth on the Goofy Vein are the next scheduled disclosure. The vein remains open both along strike and at depth, per the July 22 release.
