Criminal Justice Committee Passes CBD-Oil in Tennessee

The Criminal Justice Committee in Tennessee announced the approval of SB1710 and HB1749 bills with latest amendments. The amendments were focused more on decriminalization of cannabidiol possession than its access. However, the approved law would permit the patients to utilize CBD-oil derivatives for treat certain ailments.

Now, the patients with a valid doctor’s prescription and a medical cannabis card are allowed to access and keep a possession of CBD-oil.

Many patients have testified for the safety and efficacy of the compound. They claimed the compound to be effective against epilepsy and seizures in comparison to the available medical solutions. The existing therapies for these medical conditions come with adverse side-effects like developing kidney-stones etc.

The new version of the bills will now move to the House Health Committee for further approval.
